Soul loss occurs when you've suffered through having spirit, connection, passion, and intention threatened or damaged somehow. Soul loss shows up in recurring patterns where a person repeatedly recreates strikingly similar patterns.

Shamanism is the oldest form of spiritual practice known to mankind. Shamans view trauma as a form of soul loss and believe that whenever trauma occurs, your soul fragments, creating soul loss.
When we go through traumatic experiences, as a defense mechanism, we go into a flight or fight response. With soul loss, your soul fragments, and you lose touch with those parts of your soul. They go to another realm called non-ordinary reality. It's a form of dissociation. If you've ever experienced soul loss or If you ever experienced a traumatic event and then suffered memory loss or never felt the same again, then that's an example of soul loss.
- A physically traumatic event like an accident or surgery.
- An emotional, emotionally traumatic event such as the death of a loved one, divorce, or unexpected ending of a serious relationship.
- Abusive relationships.
- Witnessing something traumatic happening to someone.
To recover from the traumatic event, a shaman travels to the non-ordinary world to retrieve the soul piece by negotiating with a spirit. Upon retrieval, the shaman blows the soul piece back into the person's heart, restoring the soul.
